Biography:

Dr. Gail Donaldson joined the department in 2017 as BCBS-NC Distinguished Professor and Department Chair.  Prior to coming to Appalachian, she served as a faculty member at the University of South Florida (2004-2017) and on the research faculty at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis (1994-2004).  Dr. Donaldson’s research focuses on sound and speech perception in adults with cochlear implants. She has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on several grants awarded by the National Institutes of Health and has published extensively in her area of expertise.
