Biography:

Bliss Hemric has been working in the field of Speech Pathology since 1986 and has been a Clinical Educator at Appalachian since 1996. She supervises students in clinical practica and provides services in the evaluation and treatment of speech-language disorders in young children. She has previously been involved with a collaborative preschool literacy grant administered by Appalachian State University and the NC Dept. of Health and Human Services. Additionally, she has served as a guest lecturer for CSD courses and has presented at the local, state, and regional levels in her area of expertise.

Bliss is an active member of the North Carolina Speech Hearing and Language Association (NCSHLA) and has served as a Board member-at-large as well as on various NCSHLA committees. Bliss is past-president of the North Carolina Association of Supervisors in Speech Pathology and Audiology (NCASSPA) and has been involved with the Southeastern University Clinical Educators (SEUCE) for about 20 years. She is a member of the Boone Optimists Club and volunteers her time for Girls on the Run of the High Country. Bliss enjoys staying active by running, biking, and swimming.
